Description:
Reporting to the Global Head of Campus Recruitment, the Asia Pacific Regional Head will be responsible for developing and implementing the overall strategy for identifying, hiring and developing entry level talent for all areas of the organization.
This person will also have responsibility for managing other divisional Campus Recruiting staff based in the Asia Pacific region and will work with the GCR leadership team to ensure that the organization is positioned as an industry leader to bring competitive advantage to the bank.
The individual will work directly with senior management to develop a regional strategic agenda for Campus Recruiting. In line with and as part of the Global Campus Recruiting strategy they will oversee the strategic and tactical execution of all campus activities in the region, including oversight of the recruiting and interview process. They will partner with the Business School and other stakeholders to build a best practice global approach to the training of entry-level hires for the Investment Bank.
This person will also be responsible for the budget, establishing metrics and managing the performance of the regional campus team. This candidate will have key GCR decision-making and approval authority. The role has a global focus with a need to identify and build consistent approaches to recruiting and requires deep recruiting experience, knowledge of investment banking products and prior management experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversight and accountability on the following regular operating activities are required:
- Develop a regional strategic process for the acquisition of entry level talent including executing and managing regional programs to achieve the Investment Bank GCR business objectives and strategy consistent with the Bank’s overall talent strategy.
- Ensure a consistent approach to GCR across all divisions across the Asia Pacific region
- Work with and support the GCR Leadership team as strategist and change agent.
- Regularly consult with senior business leaders to create an ongoing buy-in and commitment to the GCR strategic agenda as well as regional recruiting agendas.
- Manage business demand composition and metrics (including Diversity) and the translation of these into manageable (regional and divisional) targets. Tactically deploy resources and ensure pipeline initiatives are optimally managed to ensure a demand – supply balance.
- Represent Regional Campus Recruiting as Chairperson and manage the Regional Governance Committee core deliverables in accordance with the governance charter and GCR objectives.
- Work with the Global Business Manager to develop and manage regional metrics, analysis, reporting and optimal use of technology.
- Establish objectives, manage the performance, coach and develop campus recruiting professionals within the Asia Pacific region.
- Work with the Global Employer Brand Manager to develop innovative and creative approaches to marketing the company Employer Brand on campus in the Asia Pacific region.
- Work with the Global Employer Brand Manager to manage delivery of consistent marketing management / campus event / marketing collateral with the framework through which an integrated One Bank EVP will be delivered.
- Develop innovative and state of the art programs to onboard entry level hires.
- Work with regional leads and compensation to ensure annual entry level salary surveys are managed and that there is an acute understanding of the current market and trends relative to qualifications. Ensure Company’s competitive position therein.
- Actively manage retention initiatives to retain top talent recruited into the Bank.
- Partner with the GCR leadership team to create a campus recruiting culture that is consistent with and represents the values and vision of One Bank.
- Work closely with HRBP and lateral recruiting to ensure consistency in processes and approach.
- Work with GCR leadership and HR on HR transformation projects to ensure representation of Asia Pacific Campus Recruiting.
- Develop consistent processes and procedures to ensure a seamless ONE BANK experience for all recruits and hires.
- Manage internal communications ensuring optimal use of all available events and platforms (i.e. Townhalls). Work with Head of Global Campus Recruiting to ensure tone, content and pitch is consistent and in tune with current GCR internal communication plans.
- Work as a team member within the GCR organization to advance both the Campus Recruitment function and HR in general.
This role may involve regional travel to attend Campus events.
Qualifications:
- A strong recruiting background with knowledge of the external campus recruiting competitive environment.
- Knowledge of the Investment Bank product’s and services.
- Strong leadership skills with experience building and managing large professional teams.
- Strong teaming skills, relationship building, relationship maintenance in a matrix team environment.
- The ability to consult with senior business managers as a partner.
- Strong influencing skills based on a solid reputation of being able to deliver at this level garnered from within the business client group and from within the Campus Recruiting community .
- Experience designing and implementing programs and processes.
- Comfort with change and the ability to proactively navigate in a matrix organization.
- Experience working in a global or regional role, understanding different markets and how to attract top talent
- A self-starter with strong communication skills and tremendous initiative and drive
- University degree or advance certificate in HR/HR related specialty required; Advanced degree preferred.
